The 79th Independence Day of India was commemorated with unparalleled zeal and patriotic splendour at St. Xavier School, Bhaddalthuha on 15th August 2025. The occasion commenced with the ceremonious arrival of the Chief Guest, the most Rev. Bishop Dr. Ignatius L. Mascarenhas who was accorded a warm floral welcome by the Principal, faculty, and students.
The programme unfolded with the hoisting of the Tricolour, symbolising the indomitable spirit of our nation. As the flag fluttered majestically in the morning breeze, the gathering resonated with the soulful strains of the National Anthem, evoking a profound sense of pride and unity.
The Chief Guest, the most Rev. Bishop Dr. Ignatius L. Mascarenhas in his eloquent address, paid homage to the valiant freedom fighters whose unwavering courage paved the path for our liberty. He exhorted the students to uphold the ideals of discipline, integrity, and selfless service for the progress of the nation.
The cultural segment was a vibrant tapestry of patriotism, featuring stirring speeches, melodious patriotic songs and graceful dances. The highlight of the celebration was poignant dance performance depicting the sacrifice of our soldiers which captivated the audience and left an indelible mark on their hearts.
The Principal, in his/her inspiring speech, reminded the gathering that true freedom lies in responsible action and collective harmony. The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks and the distribution of sweets, fostering camaraderie and joy among all.
